The board of directors and general manager are delighted to extend the very warmest of welcomes to Mrs Clarke and Messrs Chaufhry, Lambert, Manchester, Mulligan and Widdowson who have recently joined your beach club.

Covid-19

1. All arrivals must be preregistered via a new simplified registration form which should be sent to concierge@sandylanepoa.com. Please click here for the SLPOA Registration Form.

2. Masks must, for the time being, be worn on arrival / departure and when using the bathrooms or approaching the bar.

3. We’re still asking all arriving at the beach club to check in at reception and as a precaution will be asked to sanitize their hands and have their temperature taken.

4. When visitors are preregistered we do NOT require their email address – however we do need to know the name and email address and email of the person registering them, whether that’s a member, long term tenant or their agent.

5. The preregistration and check in process is important from a Covid-19 point of view and also to prevent any unauthorized access.

Bar and restaurant

Regarding the bar and kitchen we continue to offer and all day menu, however please look out for the specials and the blackboard menu which change from week to week.

During the quiet months we will be closing the restaurant on Mondays as well as on Tuesdays or Wednesdays depending on the number of occupied villas and registered guests.

Please also see the bar menu here or on the website sandylaneestatebeachclub.com.

Coolers on the beach

Regarding coolers on the beach, there has been a number of questions concerning the SLPOA policy which is mainly due to Covid restrictions but also to discourage large gatherings of renters and invited guests on the beach, which has resulted in parties which have gone on after closing which isn’t ideal from a security point of view and damaged SLPOA property – mainly the gate.

To be clear personal coolers for personal use are fine however big party coolers full of alcohol are not permitted.

Events

Please take a look at the images below of the events we held over the Easter weekend:

Saturday, 16th April — Easter Egg Hunt

Easter Sunday — Kids Club and Face Painting

Easter Monday — Sand Castle Competition

Maintenance

The trees on the car park and beach side of the property will have been trimmed by our usual contractor.

There will also be some plumbing work scheduled in June when we are quiet, as it may be a little noisy / disruptive and could take up to 4 days to complete.

Some areas of the car park surface were showing signs of loss of asphalt, however this was addressed by C.O. Williams – we will continue to monitor.

Termite inspection

Please note that on Wednesday 29th June there will be a termite inspection of all cabanas and the club house.

As we don’t have keys for all cabanas could you kindly ask your property manager or villa staff to open up your cabana at this time of leave a key at the beach club so we can open your cabana for the inspection.

Short term rentals

As short term rentals continue on the estate a number of properties have experienced 4 weeks or more of short term rentals which triggers the short term rental supplement.

We are therefore delighted to confirm that 6 new payments have been received since the AGM.

We will continue to monitor short term rental access during the course of the year.

Road and Estate committee

The Roads Committee is currently made up of all the Directors of WCL.

Current activity includes:

— Quotes have been requested from three reputable contractors to repaint speed humps and road junction markings.

— Quotes are also being sought to repair the potholes throughout the Estate.

— Subject to the approval of a representative sample, the Committee has sanctioned the investment into replacing all road signage.

— Further to the Visual Road Condition Survey submitted by Professional Engineering Services Ltd., the committee has elected to commission a topographical survey of two roads deemed to be in the poorest condition, Cooper Hill and West Gap Road #1, by the independent surveyor Douglas Willkie of Wilkie Surveying Inc, recommended by PESL and who offered the most competitive rate between themselves, HHF Surveying and RSW Surveying. Armed with the results of the survey PESL are to produce drawings identifying areas for road rehabilitation along with a specification of works for their design. Whilst this exercise will identify any critical remedial work the main purpose is to enable the committee to tender the full cost of refurbishment of all our roads with which to more accurately budget what the Road Fund Trust contributions should be from this October to ensure it is sufficiently funded to initiate the works in say, five years time.
